Politics, Money and Drugs …

Thursday’s Buzz ...

New York Times endorses Clinton: hooray ... (can you hear the sincerity in my voice ... NOT ...)

Clinton vs. Obama (Round 87): Or so it seems. I know that my saying this doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but all of these usual and customary dirty, sneaky, underhanded tricks and deceptions and lies are simply giving the GOP more ammunition. And they’re particularly tarnishing whatever remains of Bill Clinton’s ‘legacy’. Obviously, he either cares little about that, or he’s in denial that his current actions will have an impact on that. Again – knowing that this matters not – but whatever remained of my respect for the former President has already evaporated. I do know for certain that I’m not alone in that feeling. I just wonder at this point if the animosity created will end up having any influence in some way on November 4, 2008.

Obama and Tony Rezko: I have to agree with Drew Griffin on this subject. Other than as a ‘general’ distraction to be piled onto all the others that the Clinton camp has amassed – there’s no logical reason to bring up Tony Rezko in relation to Barack Obama. As Drew correctly pointed out, it’s not as though Hillary Clinton has never been included in a questionable land deal, or accepted a campaign donation from a supporter under Federal investigation or indictment.

Rebate (partial) approval: Tom Foreman reported on the details of the economic stimulus package approved by the House of Representatives yesterday. The legislation still needs Senate approval. BTW – if you miss Tom’s amusing daily “take” on the political scene – via “Raw Politics” – it’s returned to the nightly “Election Center” broadcast – FYI!!!

HGH: David Mattingly reported on the dramatic rise in the use of Human Growth Hormaone (HGH) among younger individuals – thirty-somethings in many cases. Yet the fact remains that much of the benefit derived from HGH can be obtained through diet & exercise – without introducing increased levels of this hormone via injections.

GOP Debate: John King, Gloria Borger and Amy Holmes provided analysis of last night’s polite affair – in marked contrast to Monday’s Democratic slugfest. And all three were a bit surprised that there were no ‘sharp elbows, fangs or claws’ to be found much of anywhere. Perhaps it was meant to showcase a contrast from Monday night???

Tom and Jerry: No, not the cartoon ... but now that I’ve mentioned it ...

Actually, the video “spoof” of the recent Tom Cruise Scientology video – with Jerry O’Connell in a spot-on Cruise imitation – must be viewed in its entirety to be truly appreciated!!

tonight on Anderson Cooper 360°:

Thanks for visiting - updates posted as needed - have a terrific weekend!
