The latest dynamic duo – Mayor Rudy & Reverend Pat …

Today’s Buzz ...

  • from last night’s program:
Pat Robertson endorses Rudy Guiliani: I guess I was at least a little surprised by this. It certainly signals a “break” from the report a few weeks ago about the covert movement within the evangelical community to endorse a third party candidate. I was especially intrigued by the comment from Gloria Borger about this endorsement being (possibly) just as much about Robertson getting his name back out into the media and the promotion (or survival) of him as a recognized spokesman for evangelicals. I also enjoyed her comment about Guiliani ending up having to apologize for something Robertson might say along the campaign trail. Reverend Pat has been known to spout off some ‘head-shakers’, as I call them.

On their second discussion topic, I very much appreciated the commentary from Roland Martin regarding Hillary Clinton and the “piling on” excuses: “She’s running for President. She should be questioned, just like everybody else is.” THANK YOU ...

Warren Jeffs confession: I have an idea!! Let’s get one of the major sports teams in the FLDS area – like the Utah Jazz – to temporarily donate the big screen used in the Delta Center during their games – set it up outdoors in the middle of Colorado City – and keep playing the section of the video from last night where Jeffs is confessing that he’s NOT – repeat NOT – “The Prophet”. Just keep that section on a continuous loop – until these poor people HAVE to understand what a dangerous criminal this man is!! Great report once again from Gary Tuchman!!

West Memphis Three: I think I missed this subject the first time around, but from last night, it appears that there is new evidence that should at least be thoroughly examined, particularly since there are three young men in jail for the crime – either on death row or serving life sentences. That’s certainly not to detract from the horrible tragedy of the murder of three young boys – Christopher Byers, Michael Moore and Steven Branch. And the thought that Branch’s former stepfather might have any remote connection to their deaths is even more horrific – I hope we’ll get an update as to whether or not that hair evidence putting Terry Hobbs at that location leads to anything concrete.

No hugs from Megan allowed: WHAT?? This is a fake story, right? I thought 'The Daily Show' was out on strike? I just have this slight suspicion that Mascoutah School Superintendent Sam McGowen, defending the “no displays of affection” rule in Megan Coulter’s middle school, had a very dysfunctional childhood. Putting an arm around a friend’s shoulder for a few seconds is slightly different than, say, two students playing tonsil hockey in the hallway in front of the principal’s office, for example. No wonder there’s such extremism in America today – children aren’t taught to use moderation, logic and rationality in their judgment, nor are they shown much (if any) by the adults that they need to emulate. Good grief!!!

OJ: Do I have to say anything about today’s preliminary hearing? OK – how about this – star prosecution witness Bruce Fromong will be (or has been) torn apart by Simpson attorney Yale Galanter. As will the rest of the prosecution witnesses. No, I haven’t watched any of the ‘live’ feed on CNN.com – I have a life, but even if I didn’t, I’d actually rather watch paint dry ...

Bounty Hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman: Let’s have Michael Vick adopt him!!! Get it?? OK – stop laughing – and I’m with Anderson – I can’t explain it either – nor would I bother wasting a second of valuable time to even try ...

tonight on Anderson Cooper 360°:

Other news:

From last night - "Stand Up For Heroes", a benefit in partnership with the New York Comedy Festival, was held for the Bob Woodruff Family Fund. The Fund assists military service members injured while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Conan O'Brien emceed the event, Robin Williams provided stand-up comedy and Bruce Springsteen performed. The Boss also donated a Harley-Davidson for auction, which raised $85,000. Anderson had served on one of the benefit's planning committees, but didn't attend last night's event.

Thanks for visiting – updates posted as needed – have a terrific day!!
