AC’s humor strikes again ...
I'll assume that gossip columnist Ben Widdicombe from the NY Daily News knows when he's in the midst of irony ... from today's column:
'Cooper never tires of Brit beat'
Anderson Cooper thinks the media don't pay enough attention to Britney Spears. "What is new with her?" he asked us with a straight face, so we told him.
"See, she must be underreported-on, because I didn't know that."
Cooper was at a preview of CNN's environmental documentary, "Planet in Peril," which he hosts.
"We're at the point where practically 90% of the world's scientists are in agreement on this, so it's hard to look away," he told us at the American Museum of Natural History.
And look, there's Jerry Seinfeld!
"Why am I here? You know: Global warming, brain cooling, body fattening," he said as he made a beeline for the hors d'oeuvres.
“Super Cooper Not Totally Fearless”
Surprisingly unnerved by flying insects - by Amy Odell
From NY Magazine: Is Anderson Cooper too brave? His boss, CNN president Jonathan Klein, thinks so. “My main concern at this point is no longer whether he can deliver journalistically,” Klein said at a screening of Planet in Peril, an environmental documentary in which Cooper gamely camps out in Greenland’s ice fields and Brazilian jungle for weeks at a time. “It’s whether he can come back whole. And even there he has a flagrant disregard for his safety and his well-being—let alone just being able to have a personal life.” But Cooper admits he’s not entirely fearless. “I completely hate bugs,” he says. “The average New York cockroach is pretty bad, but in the Amazon they grow to, like, huge lengths that you can’t even imagine, and I believe they’re going for my jugular at all times.” His co-star, Jeff Corwin, says that the flying-roach-to-human ratio at their Brazilian camp was particularly high thanks to a neon light they used at night, giving him ample opportunity to torment Cooper. “I would just grab handfuls of bugs and throw them at Anderson and listen to him squeal.”
UPDATE: Clinton Global Initiative - As noted on this blog in the 9/27/07 entry - at the annual CGI meeeting on September 26, Anderson moderated a panel discussion on global education entitled "The Most Effective Strategies For The Most Vulnerable Children" - and a two-part video is now available for viewing - part one can be found here and part two can be found here.
And a very happy 8th anniversary to the companion Yahoo group for this blog – AC 360° - check out the special 8th anniversary photo album posted at the group – the group link is available on the sidebar. I guess that we keep humming along because we have such plentiful inspiration ... :-)

Congratulations to Gunmetal Grey!
I said it there and I’ll say it again here, you are the classiest Anderson group and blog around. No one treats Anderson and their group members with the respect that you do; I feel very comfortable belonging to Gunmetal Grey and contributing to your blog.
With inspiration like Anderson, I know you will have many more wonderful years ahead.
I can’t wait to see our Mr. Cooper on Sesame Street tomorrow; I am sure it will be very cute!
That Jeff is such a naughty little devil!
Thanks - somehow it just doesn't seem like 8 years ...
I'm sure that Jeff enjoyed tormenting Anderson, but don't you have to admit that it just seems like it would be more fun than should be allowed? ;-)
I did see the Sesame Street segment this morning, though I had to leave before the whole show was through. It was cute - I think we saw quite a bit of it previewed on 360 this past November!
